Enriched by Experience:
Because life can be messy, and sometimes painful
Let's face it, life can be messy and sometimes painful. It's a mix of highs and lows, achievements and defeats, unexpected challenges and moments of self-doubt. Enriched by Experience believes that despite all, it is possible to navigate these difficult life experiences and in time, even become enriched (not beaten, depleted or defined) by them.
Instead, our therapeutic philosophy is inspired by the theory of post-traumatic growth, recognizing the wisdom, strength, courage and positive self-acceptance that can emerge from adversity.
Our partnership with you…
Imagine an illuminated lightbulb, just like our logo. A lit lightbulb is bright and casts light all around. But without electricity, a lightbulb is just a fancy glass object without a function.
At Enriched By Experience we think of Therapeutic partnerships as a brightly glowing lightbulbs. My clinical training and professional experience are like the lightbulb itself. It's the structure of that informs therapy, - the framework, the knowledge of service delivery.
But it's my client’s spark of wisdom – your life experiences, your values, your realizations and revelations, your goals and needs – that is the electricity that truly ignites and powers the lightbulb. And so the spark and the bulb work together to create the light.
Enriched by Experience combines clinical expertise and professional training, with recognising the acquired wisdom of my client’s lived experience. We believe its the the spark of wisdom gained from sharing lived experience in a professionally created safe therapeutic space that truly illuminates the path towards meaning, purpose, and self-discovery.

Hello! I’m Emma (She/Her and also happy with Them/They)
I'm a bit of a unique blend of things
Personally, I'm a UK-born, late diagnosed Neurodivergent individual who is navigating perimenopause and chronic pain (I have acceptance and still FFS). And I change my hair a lot, but for those folks who prefer predictability - I will advise you of this before our sessions.
Professionally, I'm proud to have been described as both a "rebel" and a "disruptor" – I know I belong exactly where I am and I’m not trying to fit in anymore. I’m an openly Neurodivergent dual - professional - working as both a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy informed and Medicare endorsed Mental Health Occupational Therapist, and as a International Coaching Federation accredited ADHD Coach. I don’t take on NDIS clients. And I only work with adults.
I’m trauma-informed, viewing individuals presenting with trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Neurodivergence as fiercely sensitive and often incredibly insightful individuals who enter therapy often determined towards change. Therapy is hard, and so I’m in awe of my client’s courage in sessions.
As a Neuroaffirming professional, I love working with individuals, workplaces, and communities to celebrate differences, optimize unique strengths, and build emotional resilience.
My work range is diverse, and includes individual therapy, and coaching, facilitating therapeutic groups, professional presenting (conferences, summits, workshops, podcasts), and content creation (I’ve created the content for a commercial app, and written guest blog posts).
In 2023, I established the WA State ADHD Mental Health Professional Network. A fully funded community of Practice established from my own professional frustration that very little professional development opportunities were available for providers wanting to work with Neurodivergent adults. (You can find more details below and on Linkedin)
Through all my engagements, I provide person-centred sessions that combine evidence-based practices with a edge of rebellious spirit. My value in action are humour, creativity, and appreciation, which guide my work.
When I'm not working, you'll likely find me strategically avoiding washing the dishes by instead watching films, dancing with great enthusiasm, walking, or laughing very (very) loudly with friends.
